Please email us answering the following quick questions:

Volunteering
Volunteers make our services possible. Without our volunteers we would not be able to provide thousands of Queenslanders with our wide range of information, education and support services. All our volunteers are appreciated and valued - they are the heart of our organisation.
There's a satisfaction to be gained in volunteer work with us, from learning new skills, or using your life experience to help others, or simply knowing that you're putting something back into the community.
And of course people with musculoskeletal conditions have special qualities to offer.
Telephone Information Service
These trained volunteers take calls from the public about arthritis or other musculoskeletal conditions. Thorough training is provided, and there is health professional staff to assist at all times. When you work in this area, you'll talk to a wide range of callers. Examples include school children with projects, people diagnosed with a musculoskeletal condition or from health professionals wanting to improve their understanding.
We ask for a weekly or fortnightly shift of three hours or more, at our office in Windsor.
Community speakers
Volunteers are trained in presenting talks on arthritis and other related conditions. Each year we reach a lot of people this way, in retirement villages, service clubs, fitness centres and other venues. The commitment is variable, being based on requests for speakers.
If you enjoy public speaking and want to help people learn, please contact us for more details via email.
Office volunteers
We are looking for people with experience in the following areas:
- general office work
- data entry
Your ability to offer a regular time every week would make a real difference to our work.
Media volunteers
From time to time Arthritis Queensland receives requests from journalists seeking volunteers to be ‘case studies’ for newspaper articles or radio/television programs on living with a musculoskeletal condition.
If you have arthritis, osteoporosis or another musculoskeletal condition and would like to be offered the opportunity to tell your story. This information will only be used to identify suitable case studies for media requests.
Please be assured that when you are on our list of media volunteers there is absolutely no obligation to be interviewed. Arthritis Queensland will contact you before any details are passed to the media.
For more information about becomming a volunteer, contact Arthritis Queensland on 1800 011 041 or please send through an email.
