Bequests

A bequest is a gift that keeps on giving long after you are able to do so personally. It is the ultimate, selfless gift.

A gift made in your Will to a charitable organisation is called a bequest. For organisations like Arthritis Queensland, bequests play a vital role in enabling us to take a major step forward in the fight against arthritis.

Every bequest helps us to continue to expand our services into new and exciting areas. Every bequest helps us show people with arthritis that they do not have to live in pain. Every bequest is welcome and greatly appreciated.

Research holds the key to more effective treatments of arthritis. By remembering Arthritis Queensland in your Will, you can play a role in finding a cure for these debilitating diseases.

Your Will is the most important document you will ever sign. Your intentions today will have a lasting impact on the future and security of your loved ones and any organisation you wish to benefit from your last expression of generosity.

Bequests are personal matters – and we respect your privacy. Although it is not essential, it would be helpful if we had some knowledge of your plans. Not only will it help us to plan ahead, it will give us the opportunity to thank you personally and discuss how we will put your gift to work. All replies are strictly confidential and obligation free.

If you would like to discuss the possibility of leaving a bequest to Arthritis Queensland, or require additional information, please contact the CEO on 1800 011 041 or please send through an email.

Memorial gifts

Memorial gifts are a tribute to the memory of someone you love. These special gifts are also a way for family, friends and colleagues to show that they care.

When planning a funeral, please consider organising memorial gifts to Arthritis or Osteoporosis Queensland.

Memorial gifts to Arthritis and Osteoporosis Queensland will fund information, education, support and research into arthritis and osteoporosis.

It is easy to arrange memorial gifts in memory of your loved one.

Before the funeral

Speak with your funeral director, who will assist you.

Ask for the funeral notice to include: ‘Donations in memory of (name of loved one) may be made to Arthritis/Osteoporosis Queensland.’

The funeral director should have a supply of Arthritis and Osteoporosis Queensland memorial envelopes, or they can request them from Arthritis Queensland.

Thanking you

Arthritis Queensland will thank the family by letter providing a list of everyone who has made a donation in memory of their loved one. For privacy reasons, the individual donation amounts are not disclosed.

Everyone who makes a donation is sent a letter of thanks and a receipt.

Special occasion donations

You can make a donation as a tribute at any time.

You may wish to celebrate a special occasion such as a birthday, anniversary or wedding with a donation gift registry at Arthritis Queensland (incorporating Osteoporosis Queensland).

To arrange, simply contact Arthritis Queensland.

Arthritis Queensland will advise you by letter the gifts made for your special occasion, but amounts will not be disclosed.

All gifts over $2.00 will receive a letter of thanks and a tax-deductible receipt.
