Community Speakers Program
Through its Community Speaker program, Arthritis Queensland provides Health Professionals or trained volunteers to speak to audiences such as health professional bodies or community groups, seeking information about arthritis and osteoporosis.
Content can include
- General and specific information about arthritis and/or osteoporosis
- Management e.g. exercise options, pain management, self-help groups, aids and equipment.
- Other topics related to musculoskeletal conditions which are negotiated with the speaker.
Talks are of 45 minutes to one hour’s duration.

- There is a $30 booking fee for volunteer community speakers. This fee covers Arthritis Queensland’s administration costs and the volunteer costs e.g. petrol reimbursement.
- For a lecture delivered by a health professional, the cost is $150 per hour in greater Brisbane. A travelling fee is added for destinations outside greater Brisbane.
