Arthritis

The word ‘arthritis’ means literally ‘inflamation of the joint’.  It is an umbrella term which covers a multitude of musculoskeletal conditions which affect the joints, the muscles and the connective tissues of the body. 

There are over a hundred musculoskeletal conditions.  The most common types are osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and gout.   It is vital that you receive an accurate diagnosis of your condition before seeking treatment.  Call the free Helpline on 1800 011 041 to speak to one of our trained health educators for advice on diagnosis and treatment options.
