Research study into new treatments for Osteoarthritis

Specialists at the Psychology Clinic at the University of Queensland are conducting a research study to evaluate a new treatment for Osteoarthritis.
This new treatment is a version of cognitive behaviour therapy, a brief intervention based on a therapist and client looking at thoughts, assumptions, beliefs, and    behaviours. This intervention aims to help osteoarthritis patients better manage their illness by teaching them a variety of self help strategies. All treatment sessions are individualised and are designed to help reduce pain, increase your ability to do the things you want to do and help you to manage flare ups.
You may be eligible to participate in this research study if you:
· Have been diagnosed with Osteoarthritis
· Are aged over 60 years
There is no cost to participate and confidentiality will be assured.

Treatment is offered at either the University of Queensland, St Lucia Campus or at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital. All parking or public transport costs will be covered.

A movie ticket will also be given to those participants who complete the full     number of treatment sessions.
