Myofascial Release

Self myofascial release is a type of soft tissue therapy. Simply, the Fascia is a thin but strong tissue that wraps around every muscle in your body. Like muscle tissue, fascial tissue can become injured, inflamed and painful. Self Myofascial Release using a myotherapy ball or hard ball (e.g. soccer ball) is an effective, inexpensive, and convenient way to:

-Improve mobility and range of motion

-Reduce scar tissue and adhesions in fascia

-Decrease tone of overactive muscles

-Decrease pain

-Improve quality of movement

-Fill in gaps between hands-on sessions of massage.

Below is a demonstration of four different areas we target with this technique. Roll slowly in each spot for 20-30 seconds.
